How this booking website handles your details and your documents.
Taws Car Rental has not published its own privacy notice yet. Until it does, this page describes how this booking website handles your information. For anything it does not answer, contact Taws Car Rental directly.
What this website collects
- When you book: your name, email address and mobile number, and the details of your booking.
- In your account: your driver’s licence number and expiry date, and, if you add them, your address and an emergency contact.
- For a self drive booking, Taws Car Rental may ask for photos of your driver’s licence, a selfie holding it, a valid government ID and a proof of billing. These are used to confirm who you are and that you are licensed to drive.
- Payment receipts you upload, rental agreements you sign (with your signature, when you signed and your IP address), and photos of the vehicle’s condition when it goes out and comes back.
- If you leave a review and Taws Car Rental publishes it, it is shown on this website with your first name and the vehicle you rented.
How it is protected
- Your licence, identity documents and receipts are kept in private storage and are never shown to other customers. They open only for someone who is signed in, through links that expire after 15 minutes, and every time one is opened it is recorded.
- This website runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
Who else is involved
Taws Car Rental uses ArkilaHub, a booking software provider, to run this website. ArkilaHub stores this information on Taws Car Rental’s behalf and uses it for nothing else. ArkilaHub’s privacy notice explains how.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 you can ask Taws Car Rental to show you the information it holds about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also complain to the National Privacy Commission at privacy.gov.ph.
