With a consistent before-and-after pair, this is usually short. The order that works:
- Show them the matching pair: same angle, before and after.
- Show them the signed inspection where they acknowledged the original condition.
- State what it costs to repair, with a quote if you have one.
- Apply it against the deposit and refund the remainder, with the split written down.
What loses these arguments is not a lack of photographs. It is photographs with no counterpart,
taken from a different angle, on a different day, that do not prove when the damage happened.
Four minutes each way, twelve shots in a fixed order, and the photographs filed against the
booking rather than the date. That is the whole system, and it is worth more than any clause in
your rental agreement.
